HBRFEST – 2012

The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival is a non-profit organization devoted to promote the most preeminent Indie Brazilian productions at the worldwide Mecca of cinema, Hollywood. Since 2009, the Festival has been the stage of the cultural and commercial exchange between up-and-coming Brazilian filmmakers and the leaders of the American entertainment industry.

Each year, the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival is held at the Egyptian Theater where it showcases daring features, documentaries, and short films made by the best new talent that Brazil has to offer. The programming cultivates an audience for Brazilian films that are rarely shown, coming fromĀ  all parts of the country, while it supports this newest crop of filmmakers with business opportunities within the larger studio system in Hollywood.

The unique face-to-face Indie Brazil Program gives the opportunity for industry professionals from production and distribution companies to meet the filmmakers invited to present their work and discuss their creative process. Distributors, Agents, Casting Directors, and film lovers will have the unique opportunity to discover the most exciting cinema that our country has to offer.

Films with a personal touch, produced outside the system, and yet without North American distribution, is our number one priority. All films are a Los Angeles Premiere and a one-of-kind opportunity for fresh discoveries.

Our Mission

Our mission is to discover and present Indie Brazilian productions to the industry leaders and audiences, thus launching international careers and opening the door for the future. Through our programs, the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival seeks to support and inspire filmmakers, while introducing audiences to new work, not previously available in the USA. With three distinct showcases – fiction, documentaries, and shorts – the Indie Brazil Competition lineup will delight with its diversity and leave you asking for more. Everyone is invited, please enjoy this rare opportunity.
