HBRFEST 

 

The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival ( HBRFEST ) is a rapidly growing festival dedicated to promoting independent Brazilian filmmakers. The Festival separates itself from other film festivals by embracing the Brazilian flavor through screenings of Brazilian Indie films, promoting renowned Brazilian stars and its dedication. Every year the festival include a variety of screenings of some of the year's top indie films, panels and workshops that feature award-winning actors, writers and directors, VIP parties and Film business industry. This year the HBRFEST will also recognize one award recipients in the film industry categories: The HBRFEST Award are giving to a HBRFEST supporter and a Brazilian artist in any category.
HBRFEST is vibrant, cultural and Fun! Guests, filmmakers, film lovers and celebrities will travel from all over to be a part of this unique film festival, usually held on the most beautiful venues in Los Angeles California.

HBRFEST is a non-profit 501c (3) (Tax ID Number: 26-2563364) organization whose mission is to support and promote diverse visions from Brazilian filmmakers, and also promoting the diversity of our Brazilian culture.

 

HBRFEST MISSION
The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival and Market were created to bridge the gap between Hollywood, the world film community and the Brazilian Film Industry. Since Hollywood is the film world's Mecca, HBRFEST creates unparalleled business and creative opportunities, welcoming Hollywood studios, celebrities, executives, film schools, talent schools and students, as well as international executives representing businesses in Latin America. The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival (HBRFEST), celebrates emerging and professional film and related industry talents. The inaugural year of the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival in 2009 proved successful with 75 indie films screened over a three-day festival. From Jan 27 – 29, 2009, over 8,590 Brazilians and regional residents had the opportunity to learn more about the film industry through lectures, competitions and the screenings of new and exciting films from across the country.
Festival goers interacted with filmmakers and related professionals in the industry at various education workshops and Q&A sessions at screenings.

The goal of HBRFEST is to position Brazilian filmmakers as a breakthrough creative community with a vibrant arts and film community of Hollywood. Los Angeles’s State University’s renowned College of Motion Picture, Television and Recording Arts, and New York Film Academy participated and hosted portions of the First Hollywood Brazilian Film festival.
 

The Opening Night Gala

The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival Traditionally uses a vibrant Brazilian mood decoration for the first night, some of the best Brazilian movies, entertainment and food can be enjoyed in the Opening Night. The Opening movie is also a treat: in the years of Festival history, all the Opening or Closing Films have won top awards, and often audiences have the delight to meet the directors and actors in person.
